The Student Exhibition Center calendar is generally set by June 15 for the following academic year. Events may be added after that if there is room in the schedule, but they will not appear in the College of Arts and Letters (COAL) Events Calendar. Exhibitors or their representatives should submit all requests no later than May first (1st) to be included in the COAL calendar. A copy of the Exhibition Proposal Form may be obtained from the Director or the office of the College of Arts and Letters. Meetings may be scheduled by contacting the Director and will be held at the facility depending on availability of space.
Criteria for Scheduling
The Student Exhibition Center is available to all students, departments and
organizations at Missouri State University. When the number of requests
exceeds the number of slots available, the Director, with recommendations from
the SEC Advisory Board, will make selections on the basis of the following
criteria:
- Priority given to student exhibitions
- Priority given to exhibitions which are a degree program requirement
- Consideration given to how recently the requestor has submitted. SEC will try to maximize opportunity for new or infrequent exhibitors.
- Order of request: all other things being equal, the first request will be given priority
The SEC Director and Advisory Board may also deny requests on the basis of:
- Non-adherence to SEC installation guidelines
- Prior experience with the exhibitor involving documented cases of property damage, abusive behavior or other violations of University policies and regulations (see Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities)
- Prior experience with a faculty member or sponsor where lack of proper supervision of students was involved
